A meeting was held with representatives of KOICA and the Gas Safety Corporation (KGS) of the Republic of Korea

The Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia is working in cooperation with the Republic of Korea to implement the project ““Establishment of the Legal and Institutional Framework and Capacity Building for Gas Safety Management in Mongolia” during 2025–2027.
Within the framework of reducing air pollution in Ulaanbaatar, the project is designed to address a portion of the heating demand of households and business entities in ger districts that are not connected to the centralized heating system. During the project implementation period following activities will include ensuring safety in gas supply storage, transportation, distribution, and improving the legal and regulatory environment for operational safety management, training of certified instructors, strengthening the capacity building of engineers and technical personnel, and promoting the public awareness, safety instruction for citizens.
During the meeting, the 2 sides discussed the project’s detailed plan and agreed to ensure the necessary preparatory work.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Bayanbaatar. P, Chairman of the Mineral Resources and Petroleum Authority of Mongolia, Ms. Hyun-jae Seo, Deputy Director of the KOICA Mongolia Office, and Mr. Park Chan-il, Project Manager along with other members of the project team.
